Escape to magnificent Greece for a very special painting adventure with me, Lori McNee – April 24 – 30, 2022!

(COVID-19 REFUND GUARANTEE – 100% FULL REFUND Should we have to cancel due to COVID-19)

For this workshop I am teaming up with Walk Europe who created this luxury, 5-star tour. Greece has been on my personal bucket list and I am thrilled to offer this trip to you! This plein air painting workshop will be filled with inspiration and a lifetime of memories for all level of painters.

I will be painting with water mixable oils, but you can choose to paint with oil, acrylic or watercolor. Be sure to bring your camera too!

Athens

We will begin in majestic Athens and will stay in a 5-star hotel in the historical heart of the city. An ancient city, Athens has been continuously inhabited for over 3,000 years. It became the leading city of Ancient Greece in the first millennium BC. and is considered to be the cradle of Democracy.

In Athens we will paint in the Agora archeological site where the proud Temple of Hephaestus stands. Then I will lead our group for a “golden hour” painting session in Athens’ historical and colorful Plaka.

In the shadow of the Acropolis, the Plaka is like a village within the city. This is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Athens. Its colorful streets, people and neo-classical architecture are a feast for any artist’s eye.

Hydra

The next chapter of our Grecian adventure begins in Hydra. Hydra is widely know as one of the most beautiful islands in Greece and the Aegean Sea.

It’s like an island fairytale! Hydra is an “old world” Greek island – there are no roads, no cars, no land vehicles. Donkeys are the delivery vans.

In Hydra we’ll stay in a luxury boutique hotel, experience local island life and enjoy delicious Greek cuisine.

Hydra is an extraordinary charming setting for artists! However, the island has seduced many international jet setters and has been a retreat for famous personalities.

Hydra is an architectural marvel with stone houses that ascend the mountain from the sea, narrow stepped alleyways and winding cobbled paths, with a beautiful clear-watered horse-shoe shaped harbor… where everyone gets around on foot or on a donkey or via water taxi.

That said, each day provides beautiful settings for a week filled of joyous plein air painting. Nevertheless, non-painter friends and spouses of artists are invited to join the trip.

There will be personal free time. For instance, time for added individual painting, shopping in village boutiques, going for a horseback ride, swimming in the Aegean Sea,  taking a Greek cooking class or relaxing at outdoor cafes.

Sounds like heaven!
