Lori McNee is a widely recognized American artist from Idaho’s stunning central mountains, celebrated for her poetic studio landscapes, vibrant plein air studies, elegant still-life paintings, and evocative wildlife art. Inspired by nature, her work reflects a deep love for the great outdoors and its magnificent creatures. While oil painting remains her primary medium, Lori also works in encaustic and gouache, showcasing her versatility and creativity as an artist.

Like her life, Lori’s creative process is diverse. While oil painting remains her primary medium, she also explores gouache, encaustic, and mixed media, each offering unique creative possibilities while remaining true to her love of light, atmosphere, and mood.

She is a Signature Member of the Oil Painters of America, the American Impressionist Society, and the Heartland Art Club, and an out-of-state member of the California Art Club. Lori is a Certified Master Artist in Cobra Water-Mixable Oils and currently serves as an Artist Ambassador for Royal Talens, RoyalTalensNA, Silver Brush, and Box N Paint. She previously served as an Artist Ambassador for Fredrix Artist Canvas and Princeton Brush Company.

Her guidance extends beyond the studio as she judges plein air events nationwide and inspires fellow artists through writing, blogging, and speaking engagements.

Her celebrated book, “Fine Art Tips with Lori McNee: Painting Techniques & Professional Advice,” and her instructional video, “Luminous Landscape Painting with Lori McNee,” continue to serve as valuable resources for artists worldwide.

When she isn’t painting, Lori can often be found skiing, hiking mountain trails with her dogs, exploring wild places with her camera, tending to her family farm, spending time with her grandchildren, or traveling the world to teach and share her love of art.
