Lori McNee

I create art and educate other artists.

Lori McNee is a widely recognized American artist from Idaho’s stunning central mountains, celebrated for her poetic studio landscapes, vibrant plein air studies, elegant still-life paintings, and evocative wildlife art. Inspired by nature, her work reflects a deep love for the great outdoors and its magnificent creatures. While oil painting remains her primary medium, Lori also works in encaustic and gouache, showcasing her versatility and creativity as an artist.

She is a Signature Member of Oil Painters of America, the American Impressionist Society, the Heartland Art Club, and an out-of-state member of the California Art Club. Additionally, Lori is a certified Master Artist in Cobra Water-mixable Oil Paints and serves as an International Artist Ambassador for Royal Talens and RoyalTalensNA.

A passionate educator, Lori shares her expertise through her popular blog at www.LoriMcNee.com, online workshops through Lori’s Fine Art Tips School at art.LoriMcNee.com and in-person painting workshops across the United States and abroad. Her guidance extends beyond the studio as she judges plein air events nationwide and inspires fellow artists through writing, blogging, and speaking engagements.

Her celebrated book, “Fine Art Tips with Lori McNee: Painting Techniques & Professional Advice,” and her instructional video, “Luminous Landscape Painting with Lori McNee,” continue to serve as valuable resources for artists worldwide.

When not in her studio, Lori enjoys skiing and trekking mountaintops with her dogs, capturing the beauty of nature through her photography, tending to her family farm, spending time with her grandchildren, and traveling the world to share her love and knowledge of art through her workshops.
