Collecting quotes has always been a secret hobby of mine. Over the years I have found many inspiring quotes in books or on the Internet, but also in some random places like tea bags, fortune cookies, and even bathroom walls.
In this post, I’m sharing a few of my favorites.
A single positive phrase from a wise person has the power to uplift my spirits and motivate or inspire me throughout the day. So, I decided to share some of my favorite ‘art quotes’ with you. I hope you enjoy them.

How to Embrace to Power of Giving
Hi Lori,
I came upon your website yesterday and have enjoyed it, especially these quotes. John Updike’s is a favorite. I agree with you that they offer much in the way of inspiration and power. (Last month I started a blog using art quotes, so it’s kind of nice to see that someone else shares the same interest in them.)
Thanks,
Suzanne
Thanks Suzanne. I like the way you use quotes as titles to your blog posts. In fact, I tried to comment, but there was no choice for my type of website address…I may have done something wrong. I enjoyed your perspective on Mary Cassatt. She helped make the art-world a better place for women. Keep in touch! Lori
When I initially commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added” checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get four emails with the same comment.
Is there any way you can remove me from that service?
Appreciate it!
Geez, I am not even aware of that commenting service? I will check into it…thanks!
I have felt the same sometimes that my brush is having a bad hair day.
