Traveling, the outdoors and plein air painting are a few of my favorite passions in life. Two weeks ago, I had the opportunity to visit Alaska aboard a very large cruise ship. My plein air painting time was very limited, nevertheless I didn’t want to miss the chance to record beautiful Alaska in paint as you can see in the video below.
As a novice photographer, I also enjoyed photographing the many amazing Alaskan wonders with my new Canon 60D camera – I added a few of my favorite images for you to see as well as some candid shots of my trip. We saw lots of wildlife along the way, including whales, sea otters, deer, dolphins, eagles, puffins, and many ocean birds just to name a few. Some people saw bears, but we didn’t.
I hope to visit Alaska again someday. It truly is a vast and wild frontier with majestic sights around every turn. This YouTube video demonstrates how I was able to paint some of the scenery as we cruised by Glacier Bay, Alaska…enjoy. ~Lori
