In this special workshop you will discover how to create a believable landscape painting with the use of design, color mixing and harmony, value and tone, plus brushwork.

There will also be time to focus on some still life painting too. This will be an oil painting workshop, and I will be demonstrating with Cobra water-mixable, solvent-free oils (great for travel!). As a bonus, I will also be sharing my world-famous online marketing secrets to grow your art business.

History: Beginning around 1887, a number of American Impressionist artists settled to work in Giverny, drawn by the landscapes, the overall atmosphere, and the presence of Monet. These included Willard Metcalf, Louis Ritter, Theodore Wendel, and John Leslie Breck. Soon many Americans extended their visits from
summer throughout the entire year. American painter Theodore Earl Butler married Monet’s stepdaughter and sometime-model Suzanne Hoschedé there in 1892. In addition, many other famous artists visited and painted in Giverny; among them Renoir, Sisley, Cezanne, Degas, Pissarro, Cassat, and Morisot,
just to name a few. In 1996, Gale Bennett founded Art Study Giverny, offering lodging and painting opportunities to artists. Honoring that tradition, Art Colony Giverny offers seven-day painting and photography sessions. Accommodations are in the village of Giverny, France, within easy walking distance of Monet’s famous House and Gardens. Participants will have the rare opportunity to paint and photograph in Monet’s Garden during hours when the Gardens are closed
to the general public and other locations in the surrounding area where many famous artists created
their masterpieces. Session dates, meals, transportation, tuition charges, and other information is available on the
“Questions and Answers” page of the Art Colony Giverny website: www.artcolonygiverny.com

Hope to see you in France!!! ~Lori 🙂
